Filtration Group Expands Customer Base and Product Portfolio with Acquisition of Essentra’s Porous Technologies Business

Filtration Group has agreed to acquire the Porous Technologies business of Essentra plc. This move significantly broadens the company’s customer base and product portfolio.

“The addition of the Essentra Porous Technologies business increases our capabilities for our customers,” said Steve Felice, Filtration Group CEO.  “This acquisition furthers our mission of becoming an innovative global filtration solution provider.”

Essentra Porous Technologies’ products support essential bio medical procedures such as disease detection and prevention, laboratory testing and genetic analysis. Its innovations are found in a wide range of products from electronics to household applications.

Colin Day, Essentra plc Chief Executive, said, “As a developer and manufacturer of custom vapour- and fluid-handling components, Porous Technologies will add greatly to Filtration Group’s technology portfolio.”

The acquisition broadens Filtration Group’s global presence by adding operations in the US, Asia and Europe.

Filtration Group to Acquire Industrial Filters Business of MAHLE GmbH

Move Expands Filtration Group’s Capabilities and Global Presence

Filtration Group Corporation is pleased to announce that it has agreed to acquire the industrial filtration business of MAHLE GmbH. The pending acquisition will add filtration capabilities across a range of applications and global markets. “MAHLE’s industrial filtration business will greatly expand Filtration Group’s product portfolio and customer base,” according to Steve Felice, Filtration Group CEO. He added, “We are extremely pleased to be welcoming such an engaged and talented team that has built a truly remarkable business.”

The acquisition will add to Filtration Group’s expertise, innovation and customer base across three primary segments: internal combustion engine, air filtration and fluid filtration. The industrial filtration business expands Filtration Group’s presence in Europe and Asia by adding over 900 employees with world-class production facilities in Germany, the Netherlands, France, Romania, the US, Japan and China.

Filtration Group won Vendor of the Year from Sherwin-Williams’ Product Finishes Division at the seventh annual ProVisions™ Vendor Awards. Matt Wilson, Sales Manager at Filtration Group for 4 years, accepted the award at the ceremony held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Orlando on January 26.


Brian Smith, Vice President of Sales for Filtration Group’s industrial finishing division, said, “Filtration Group and Sherwin-Williams have had a strong partnership for many years. Filtration Group’s industrial finishing division works with Sherwin-Williams’ ProVisions™ Program to offer unique filtration solutions and a wide variety of spray booth maintenance products for OEMs and contract finishers that perform liquid and powder coating painting processes. The ProVisions™ Program simplifies the ordering process by offering a one-stop shop for purchasing coatings, over 10,000 brand-name tools, supplies, and equipment used in the finishing process.
